Hi there!
My name is Cassandra and I am freelance wildlife and travel photographer. Thanks for showing an interest in my work, I hope you've liked what you’ve seen so far and check back in once in a while to see more.
Now, a little bit about me
I was born and raised in a city about an hour away from Toronto, Ontario here in Canada. I began my photographic journey at the age of 10 when I received my first point and shoot camera, a small pink Polaroid digital camera. It wasn’t until I was 16 and took my first photography class in high school, that I realized photography was going to be more than a hobby, it was then I became determined to chase this passion all the way to a career. At 18 I enrolled at Fanshawe college for their two year photography program and it was there that I really honed my skills as a photographer. In 2018 I took a trip to Scotland and spent 3 weeks touring the country, and thanks to that trip I realized that I would never be happy in one place for long. There is so much to see in this world and I want to capture as much of it with my camera as I can. In 2019 I was gifted the chance to travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands and all I can say is WOW! the wildlife that country hosts is unlike anything I've ever had the chance to experience, and maybe that's because of where I grew up but I still stand by that statement. I've been an avid animal lover all my life and I always knew I wanted to do something as a career that involved animals, but getting the chance to witness as many amazing, beautiful animals as I did while I traveled in Ecuador and the Galapagos really solidified the idea of using my camera to capture photographs of these amazing animals so that I can share them with the rest of the world.
Thank you for taking a moment to read a bit about me, make sure you check out my portfolio and follow me on instagram to stay up to date on what I’m up to.
